TRI-DIRTY BOOSTER

In the mid 1970s, Hohner released what I believe is the finest Muff circuit ever made. 

There is still a lot of mystery surrounding this pedal, including who actually built it for Hohner, which Muff circuit it was based on, and why certain changes were made.

From everything I know about Muff circuits, I believe the Tri-Dirty Booster was derived from a late 1972 to 1973 transitional Triangle circuit, one that is very close in design to the early 1973 Ram's Head models.

The Tri-Dirty Booster is not just a clone. It is something better.

The changes made to the circuit resulted in something truly exceptional. The low end is perfectly balanced, full without ever becoming boomy or muddy. The low notes have just enough grit to add character and definition, while lead lines bloom with rich harmonics that are sweet, fluid, and incredibly expressive.

It captures everything I love about the very best Muff circuits, distilled into one extraordinarily rare pedal.
